Isaiah 55:8-9 " For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are My ways your ways declares The Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."
When I was planning for my trip to Mexico, I knew that I was going primarily to do personal ministry to the family who lost their oldest son in an automobile accident in Mexico city. (My time with them was so precious, God really showed up and blessed our time in so many ways, He is the restorer, the healer and the repairer of broken walls. The Lord allowed me to speak into their lives on a very deep and personal level.)
I was then going on to Cuernavaca to be a support to my missionary friend as she was planning and executing an inner healing seminar for her church which she has been trying to do for the last two years. All I knew was to go and be a missionary to the missionaries. Three single missionaries traveled from Oaxaca for the inner healing seminar, the Lord was so gracious in allowing me to have some personal, one-on one time with them.
I knew ahead of time that I would share at the churches' monthly women's event but little did I know that God had other plans... He has been teaching me to be flexible, to be ready in season and out, to simply obey and to hold my plans loosely before Him. I was very quickly integrated into the international team of inner healing ministry as I translated into Spanish for many of the personal ministry sessions. These sessions last anywhere between 2-3 hours or more, depending on the depth of the trauma. The personal ministry sessions for the first 2 days were only focused on the Pastors and leadership of the church. There is no greater joy than to witness first-hand the transformation in the lives of Gods children, to see marriages being restored and transformed, to see torment turn to peace, oh the joy! Due to the visible transformation in the lives of those who were ministered to, others were reaching out to the team and wanting ministry too. Needless to say, we had no down time, it was an intense week of ministry, but oh so worth it. I ended up having to do several personal sessions due to the great need. Pray for my missionary friend who will stay behind and begin to train up leaders in order to do the work of the ministry. I was approached by a pastor of another large church on Saturday night, asking if I would preach at his church on Sunday morning. Now, remember, this is Mexico and women are not often welcome in the pulpit on a Sunday morning. I remembered the Lord told me to "be ready" and "to be flexible", so when I eventually got back to the house late that night, I surrendered to His plan and as always, He gave me a word in season for the congregation and a prophetic word for the pastor and his wife. Once again, Sunday ended up being a full day of ministry all the way until late that night we were being called upon to pray for those in dire need. To think, the pastors and leadership of two large churches were greatly impacted by the transforming power of the word of God. So many individual lives were touched and changed, what an honor to partner with The Lord. So many beautiful friendships were made and I have been invited back, which is an honor!
"A mans heart plans his way but The Lord directs his steps" was very evident during my time in Mexico! Every time I reflect on the trip, I am overwhelmed by God's provision, His protection, His abundance, His favor and His amazing power to transform lives.
Thank you for sending me with your prayers, your love and your support. Please continue to pray for our monthly Women in Leadership Alliance gatherings.
